Accessing Free Text to Read Tools on the Internet 

The internet holds an increasing array of tools that can be useful for accessing text on the computer.  Here are a few:

Adobe Acrobat 8.1 will read .pdf files aloud with highlighting (Windows XP)

ReadPlease 2003 can read text copied to it aloud with highlighting   (Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP)

Firefox is a web browser (Mac and Windows)

Accessibar (Mac and Windows) can let you easily change the background and text color of web pages viewed with Firefox
